We warranty all products same as Kohler did as we use the Kohler warranty manual. We just spent a lot of money repairing 5 engines customers claimed were defective. One thing we discovered is ALL 5 had installed a new China carb or fuel pump. Upon inspection all were assembled properly and all clearance were correct. We follow all warranty same as specified in Kohler manuals and it covers defects in material and workmanship. Nowhere does Kohler state add junk parts and if it damages we will fix it and neither will we anymore. We now put a note in all engines stating this. These aftermarket parts leave a very distinct tell tale signs so its easy for us to tell. We tested a fuel pump customer left on his 14 hp when he returned and we tested volume on our test engine. ( pump didn't even pump enough fuel to run a 5 HP engine. ) This raises head and exhaust temps 300 to 400 degrees which does serious damage and that is never warranty.
We have been saying for years the aftermarket carbs can ruin engines and now people are telling us the same thing. We are also seeing it with fuel pumps as our last batch we actually tested all and less than 1/2 worked. It is a big problem so if you put on a new pump you can have your local shop test it or you can do test it. It is gas so

We are also seeing it with fuel pumps as our last batch we actually tested all and less than 1/2 worked. It is a big problem so if you put on a new pump you can have your local shop test it or you can do test it. It is gas so be carefull! Pull hose that goes to carb off and remove sparkplug wire so engine doesn't start. put hose into a container and turn key. It should pulse a steady stream. If it doesn't then it will probably damage motor. If you don't feel comfy testing your local shop will probably do it since most shops test your old pump if your having issues. We recommend having your local shop test it as they are use to it!
